Submission Guidelines

Brief: Students should come up with a creative business idea that solves a critical challenge facing people in Kenya.

In the first round, they will need to submit:

Team Video (2.5 minute limit) covering the following questions:

  1. What is the problem you are trying to solve and why is this an important problem to solve?
  2. How does your product/service solve the problem?
  3. Why would customers choose your product/service compared to competitors / what they are doing today?
  4. Why are you the right team for this business?

The competition will have 3 rounds

Round 1

The first round will require the participants to submit their 2.5-minute video pitch. The judging panel will evaluate all the submitted videos, post the submission date, and shortlist the top 50 teams. The top 50 will be eligible for a public choice award through public voting online.

Round 2

The top 10 teams will be eligible for a Zoom interview (20 minutes), each with a judging panel to determine the Top 5 for the finalists who will move to the final round.

Round 3

The top 5 teams will be asked to pitch their business in front of a panel of judges. The judges will ask them each some follow-up questions and score them with the aim of choosing and then announcing the 3 winning teams. Craydel is working with a media partner to have the final round televised on TV.

Craydel
